It all began in an old beat up store front on East Hastings at Main Street in Vancouver. A young and naive cyber-obsessed youth meets a wise street shaman, proceed to bond over a deep love for HP Lovecraft, psychedelics and strange electronic music. In the autumn of 2006, the dream of darqlab was conceived. In this dream we offered a haven for the unheard sounds of the psychedelic underbelly of Vancouver. A place for all of us less conventional musicians and artists to gather and share our oddities, bonding many a night over the brooding pulse of some elongated electronic elegy, angular in all the wrong/right places.

Over the years, we hosted a number of events, residencies and regular nights that helped to solidify our dream of bringing together like-minded people to pioneer the weirder side of psychedelic music. Each and every one of these amazing artists and people helped to shape darqlab into the entity it remains to be this day. The physical events have disintegrated for now, but the spirit of darqlab lives on in the digital realm!

We are very proud to have assembled some of the original darqlab artists to deliver a small ep of experimental, explorational sound design to tickle you mind! A lovely collection of alternate realiites in celebration of this 15th year of our continued existence! For your listening pleasure, we present various alternate realities! Here's to 15 more years of surfing the transdimentional waves!
